We are writing to let you know that our next release: Party Intellectuals, the debut recording from guitarist Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog, will hit the streets on June 24th. Ribot is a widely recognized original on the guitar, with influence across multiple genres of music, including rock, jazz, punk, Latin, soul, 80s No-Wave, avant-garde and noise. He is joined by bassist Shahzad Ismaily (Laurie Anderson, Will Oldham, Jolie Holland, Secret Chiefs 3) and drummer Ches Smith (Xiu Xiu, Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant) for their own brand of downtown New York City mayhem. Though Pi Recordings has strayed to the far edges of jazz in the past, this will be our first all-out rock album, though one filtered through Marc Ribot's typically warped aesthetic.
